Felixstowe
A random punter called Rupert recognised us and gave us some money this morning. Pier2pier has restored our faith in human nature – a big thanks also to Max the Harbourmaster and to Vicky. As we disembarked the bus at Felixstowe we were rather nervous owing to the appalling reports that pier2pier’s trained scouts had been phoning in over the course of the morning. But hey, the place ain’t to bad. It’s not going to win any awards, but it has enough to entertain the travelling eccentric for an evening. We met up at the pier with some of Tim’s friends – mainly SelfHelpPubCrawlers and their long suffering partners. Emma and Alan challenged us to build a pier out of the sand for a donation of a ton. Of course we obliged and here’s a grip ‘n’ grin picture to prove it. Being north of the original pier we naturally christened it Felixstowe South and banked the cash. That’s another kid saved from a well – but there’s more stuck down one in Walton on the Naze – pier2pier must move on. Heroes: Emma and Al for the sand pier challenge
